ANNUAL REPORT OF THE MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH FOR THE
YEAR 1921.
GENTLEMEN,-
I "beg to submit the following Report on the Public Health
and Sanitary Administration of the Frome Rural District for the Year
ending December 31st, 1921.
In instructions received for preparing the Annual Reports
for this year the Minister of Health has revised the particulars
required in ordinary Reports,- omitting details which do not vary
from year to year.
Annual Reports of a full and detailed character,- such as
last year's Report - will be Known in future as Survey" Reports,
and will "be required at intervals of five year. In the intervening
years the shorter Reports required will be Known as “Ordinary
Reports".
The Annual Report for 1931 will accordingly "be an
ordinary Report.
VITAL STATISTICS.
THE BIRTH RATE.- The number of Births registered during the year
was 240 - 125 boys and 115 girls,
This is 2 more than last year, when the number of Births
was exceptionally large.
The Birth Rate per 1000 population is

The Rate for England and Wales for 1921 is 22.4
The Infant, Mortality that is. Deaths under 1 year of age
is 13. This gives a rate per 1000 Births registered of 54.
