To the Chairman and Members of the Education Committee
of the Borough of Finchley.
I have the honour to submit my report on the work of
the School Medical Service for the year 1935.
The general health of the children has been good
throughout the year and the schools have been particularly
free from epidemic diseases.
The work carried out shows expansion in most directions
and there has been increasing evidence that parents realise
the value of what is being done for their children.
The dental treatment of the elementary school children
has suffered a check owing to the fact that the amount of
work found necessary for the scholars of the secondary
schools turned out to be much greater than was anticipated,
but the arrangements which your Committee have made for
the next financial year will ensure that no child will go more
than twelve months without inspection and the opportunity
of receiving treatment.
I wish to acknowledge the ever ready co-operation of the
Director of Education, the Head Teachers and all members
of the staff.
I am,
Your obedient Servant,
A. A. TURNER.
