There were 27 deaths from cancer of the lung, eight less than in
the previous year.
Motor car accidents accounted for 6 deaths, other accidents for
18 deaths, and there were 13 suicides.
Of the total deaths, 587 were of persons over 65 years of age.
Mortuary
One hundred and seventy-nine bodies were received into the
Mortuary and of these 30 were from Friern Barnet and 32 from
Potters Bar. Post mortem examinations were carried out in all cases.
