Regarding the samples noted as unsatisfactory, the following
comments are added:—
" Milk. The 20 samples of new milk were taken from churns
consigned to milk receiving depots in your district. They formed
parts of consignments from 12 different dairy farmers. In the case
of each consignment the average composition of the whole quantity
of milk, contained in a number of separate churns, was satisfactory

" Miscellaneous. A glass jar in which cream had been sold was
found to contain foreign matter consisting of mortar. A caution was
given to the packers concerned."
