This Act came into operation on the 6th July, 1957, and introduced
a new and much more involved procedure for obtaining
Certificates of Disrepair.
Under the new procedure, the tenant must draw up his own list
of defects. This is sometimes found to be unsatisfactory, as only the
tenant's items can be included in the Certificate of Disrepair, when,
often, defects of a more serious nature, which the Public Health
Inspector may find during his inspection, cannot be included.
Since the Act came into operation, the following are particulars
of applications dealt with:—
