An inspection of the pet shops within the district was carried'
out and in consequence thereof 3 persons have been licensed.
Legal Proceedings
Legal proceedings were taken in the following instances:
(1) Three street traders were summoned for 5 offences including
1 case of failure to register as a hawker under Section 11 of
the Middlesex County Council Act, 1950, and 4 instances of
failure to exhibit names and addresses as required by the
byelaws made under Section 15 of the Food and Drugs Act,
1938. Fines amounting to £6-0-0 and costs totalling £2-2-0
were imposed.
(2) Proceedings were instituted against the owner of premises for
failure to comply with a Statutory Notice served under the
Public Health Act 1936, requiring the abatement of a nuisance
arising from a defective roof. An application for an Order
to be made against the Council to do the necessary repairs,
in default of the owner, was granted.
