Lectures and Film Shows to School Children
A general talk with a preview of film strips was given at the
Public Health Department to the Youth Officer and Domestic
Subject Teachers. Lectures to classes of senior school children were
arranged at five schools to an audience of 1,380 children.
Display of Dog Notices in Food Shops
Notices for exhibition in shops were sent to two hundred and
forty-six traders during the year. The notices pointed out that
the presence of dogs in food shops was a danger to the health
of the public.
Bye laws— Section 15 of the Food and Drugs Act, 1938
Copies of the Byelaws have been supplied to all traders in
the district and inspections made to ascertain that the provisions
thereof are being complied with.
In this connection improvements have been carried out,
including the following:
Kitchens reconstructed 5
Shops modernised 4
New closed shop fronts to open shops 3
Unsatisfactory premises closed 2
New water heaters provided 13
New sanitary accommodation and washing
facilities 3
Additional sinks provided 5
Refrigerators provided 6
