The foregoing- methods of disint'estation are carried out by the Corporation's own staff.
The houses occupied by persons about to remove to Council dwellings are examined by the Housing
Manager or one of the Sanitary Inspectors and any infested articles therein are either disinfested or destroyed.
The houses which have been disinfested are revisited in order to ascertain whether or not further
treatment is necessary, and the tenants are requested to co-operate with the department by keeping their
houses in a cleanly state and reporting any reappearance of bugs. Since the introduction and use of D.D.T.
the need for repeat disinfestation has been less frequent.
