GENERALLY
The number of complaints of nuisances received during
the year showed an increase; 533 having been investigated
and dealt with.
Other urgent matters including investigation of infectious
diseases, drainage work and the inspection of factories have
been dealt with and in connection therewith 7,854 visits have
been made by the sanitary inspectors.
Factory premises still require special attention owing
to premises of all types being used and, in many circumstances,
for purposes for which they are entirely unsuitable. Complaints
