[Report of the Medical Officer of Health for Finchley]

To the Chairman and Members of the Education Committee
of the Borough of Finchley.
I have the honour to submit my report on the work
of the School Medical Service for 1938.
There are no new developments to report but the work
in all departments has gone on smoothly throughout the year.
There was an extensive epidemic of measles in the
Spring, but the incidence of most of the other infectious
diseases was below normal. Immunisation of the children
against diphtheria continued and the schools remained remarkably
free from this disease—only two cases being
notified.
Much good work was done at the Dental Clinic, Eye
Clinic and Minor Ailments Clinics.
Once again I have pleasure in recording my indebtedness
to the Director of Education for his co-operation — to the
Heacf Teachers for their willing assistance and to all members
of the School Medical Staff for their loyal service during
the year.
I am,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
A. A. TURNER,
School Medical Officer.
