Tuberculosis.
During the year 74 new cases of pulmonary tuberculosis
were notified comprising 47 males and 27 females. Fourteen
non...pulmonary cases were notified comprising 4 males and
10 females.
There were 22 deaths from pulmonary tuberculosis, the
same as in 1937, and 4 from non...pulmonary tuberculosis as
compared with 2 in 1937. This gives a total of 26 deaths
from all forms of tuberculosis, 16 males and 10 females.
The death rate for the disease is 0.39 per 1,000 of the
population.
In 15.38% of the cases dying from tuberculosis, no
previous notification had been received.
Dr. Dobson, the Tuberculosis Officer, has been good
enough to supply me with the following figures :—
