Tuberculosis.
During the year 41 new cases of pulmonary tuberculosis
were notified comprising 23 males and 18 females. Twelve
non-pulmonary cases were notified comprising 5 males and
7 females.
There were 26 deaths from pulmonary tuberculosis as
compared with 18 in 1935, and 2 from non-pulmonary tuberculosis
as compared with 5 in 1935. This gives a total of 28
deaths from all forms of tuberculosis, 18 males and 10
females.
The death rate for the disease is 0.43 per 1,000 of the
population.
In 32.1% of the cases dying from tuberculosis, no previous
notification had been received.
Dr. Dobson, the Tuberculosis Officer, has been good
enough to supply me with the following figures:-
