Ambulance Facilities.
(a) Infections Cases.—Arrangements nave been made
by the Joint Hospital Committee with the London
County Council for the conveyance of all cases of
infectious disease from their homes to the Joint
Isolation Hospital.
(b) Non-Infections and Accident Cases.—The Council
provide a Motor Ambulance for the conveyance of
non-infectious sick and cases of accident. During
the year the ambulance was called out in connection
with 273 street accidents and 447 private cases.
A sum amounting to £330 was recovered from the
various users.
Mortuary.
Some progress has been made towards the erection of
a new mortuary to replace the existing one in Summers
Lane. Plans have been approved by the Council for a well
equipped modern building, and the approval of the Minister
of Health is awaited.
During 1936, 51 bodies were received in the mortuary,
6 of these belonging to Friern Barnet.
