Tuberculosis
During the year 42 new cases of pulmonary tuberculosis
were notified, comprising 21 males and 21 females.
Fourteen non-pulmonary cases were notified, consisting of
4 males and 10 females.
There were 30 deaths from pulmonary tuberculosis, 13
males and 17 females, and 4 deaths from non-pulmonary
tuberculosis, 2 males and 2 females.
In 23.5 per cent. of the cases dying from tuberculosis
no previous notification had been received.
Dr. Dobson, the Tuberculosis Officer, has been good
enough to supply me with the following figures:—

No cases were dealt with during the year under the
Public Health (Prevention of Tuberculosis) Regulations,
1925, or the Public Health Act, 1925, Section 62.
There were 30 deaths from pulmonary tuberculosis and
4 from other tubercular diseases, giving a death rate for all
forms of tuberculosis of .55 per 1,000 of the population.
