To the Chairman and Members of the Education
Committee of the Urban District Council of Finchley.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to submit my report on the work
of the School Medical Service during the year 1925.
No material alterations in the scheme of treatment
have been made during the year. Fewer defects have
been found in the children than in the previous year,
but the incidence of dental caries continues to be relatively
high. The arrangements for dental inspection and
treatment have recently been remodelled and it is hoped
thereby to encourage the acceptance of treatment to an
extent not attained at present.
The health of the children has been good and there
has been no widespread epidemic during the year.
I wish to express my thanks to Mr. Cogdale, the
Secretary of the Education Committee, for his invaluable
assistance at all times, and to the head teachers and
members of my staff, who have done everything in their
power to promote the efficiency of the service.
I am,
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
A. TURNER,
School Medical Officer.
