Finchley Urban District Council
ANNUAL REPORT
OF THE
Chief Sanitary Inspector
for the Year 1925.
To the Chairman and Members of the Urban District
Council of Finchley.
Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you my Twentyfourth
Annual Report dealing with the work carried out
by your Sanitary Inspectors during the year 1925.
The total number of inspections made during the
year was 9,315, as compared with 10,283 in 1924. The
decrease in the total number of inspections in 1925 was
due to the fact that it was found necessary to devote a
large amount of time to the work of meat inspection in
the slaughterhouses. On 606 of the premises visited,
defects or nuisances to the number of 1,481 were discovered,
and at the end of the year 1,394 of these defects
or nuisances had been abated, the work of remedying 16
was in hand, and the remaining 71 were outstanding.
In order to ascertain that the sanitary defects were being
properly remedied 849 visits were paid to the respective
premises while the work was in progress.
