MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE.
The Local Authority maintains two Infant Welfare
Centres, one at Bourchier House, Oak Lane, and the other
at the Congregational Hall, North Finchley. Each centre
is open two afternoons a week, on one afternoon a Medical
Officer attends for consultations, and on the other afternoon
the Health Visitor attends for the weighing of infants.
Apart from the Medical Officer and the Health Visitor,
the staff at the two centres consists of Voluntary Workers
of the Finchley Infant Welfare Association who are responsible
for a large amount of valuable work. All drugs,
foods and clothing, etc., are provided by the Voluntary
.Association.
The attendances at the centres during the year 1925
are shown in the following table:—

attendances at the Creche show an increase over those of
the previous year.

During the year the following home visits have been
made by the Health Visitors:—

No investigations have been made into maternal deaths,
still births or infant deaths.
