Incidence of Infectious Disease.
The total number of cases notified during 1911 (excluding
Chicken Pox and Phthisis) was 239 as compared with 212
during the year 1910.
Chicken Pox was temporarily added to the list of Notifiable
Diseases for three months from April 13th. This
course was taken as a precautionary measure on account of
the occurrence of Small Pox in an adjoining district; in all
18 notifications were received. Phthisis is considered under
a separate heading.
Chart II. gives a graphic representation of the number of
cases of Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria and Enteric Fever notified
during each week of the year.
Table VIII, shews the number of cases notified at the
different ages—the number occurring in each Ward, and the
number removed to hospital.
