SANITARY INSPECTOR
For the Year 1908.
To the Chairman and Members of the Finchley Urban
District Council.
Gentlemen,—
I beg to submit my seventh Annual Report in which is
recorded particulars of the work carried out by the Sanitary
Department during the year 1908.
The chief event of the year in regard to new Legislation
was the placing on the statute Book of the Finchley Urban
District Council Act, 1908. The most important section of
this Act is doubtless that which relates to the amendment of
the law in respect to combined drainage, but there are also
several other clauses which will prove of material aid to your
Inspectors in carrying out their duties.
Some additional legal facilities were also anticipated in
connection with the adoption by your Council of the Public
Health Acts Amendment Act, 1907, but for some reason the
necessary sanction of the Local Government Board had not
been received at the end of the year.
