Following the lines recommended at the meeting in
November last, I would suggest that—
1. The form of notice which must be supplied to
any medical practitioner or midwife residing or practising
in the District, who applies for the same, should not
be printed on a post card but on a sheet of paper capable
of being securely closed before being returned to the
Medical Officer of Health, so as to ensure privacy.
2. The doctors should be asked to intimate whether
a visit by the Health Visitor is or is not desirable.
3. In cases where no note is made as to the desirability
or otherwise of a visit, the decision should in
every instance be made by the Medical Officer of Health,
and not be left to the judgment of the Health Visitor.
