E(5) Food Hygiene.
The Food Hygiene Regulations 1955.
(1) Since 1st January, 1956, when the above Regulations
came into operation there has been a considerable improvement
in regard to standards aspects of both food hygiene,
and personal hygiene. Whilst many food premises have
been completely re-conditioned, others are in the process
of reconstruction with a view to improving the existing
conditions. Some food purveyors have completely abandoned
the former practice of selling open food and the
storage of food in refrigerators prior to sale, is now becoming
more the rule than the exception.
No certificates of exemption under Regulation 31 have
been issued during the year.
