E (3) Meat and Food Inspection
E (3)a Slaughterhouses
Slaughtering which formerly took place at the two
private slaughterhouses daily, in the evenings of at least
three days and on every Sunday, has now been extended to
Saturdays, and this accounts for the increased number of
inspections shown in the prescribed form table. In this regard,
the incumbent duties of meat inspection are taxing the manpower
resources of the Department to the full, and it is
considered that this exacting situation will continue until
the irregular times and hours of slaughtering are stabilised.
