D(12) Rent and Mortgage Interest (Restrictions) Act 1939.
(a) During the year, the Chief Public Health Inspector
dealt with 42 applications for assistance regarding standard
rents and extortionate payments, and appended below is a
summary of the improvements which were effected:—
(a) Rent reduced from £1 Is. 3d. to 18s. 3d. per
week.
(b) Rent reduced from £1 10s. 3d. to £1 9s. 3d.,
and £2 14s. 0d. returned to tenant.
(c) Rent reduced from 19s. 6½d. to 12s. 0½d.
(d) Rent reduced from £2 2s. 0d. to £1 9s. 9½d.
