tends to blacken white paint on houses. Vessels berthed at
local wharves appear to be particularly affected, brasswork
becoming rapidly tarnished and on occasions turning it green.
These, together with other visibly apparent deleterious effects
were duly demonstrated by the Chief Sanitary Inspector to the
visiting Inspector of the Ministry of Fuel and Power in January
this being in connection with the local Enquiry held in
December, 1953, with regard to the advent of a Power Station
in the district.
