Corporation. On this occasion it was demonstrated that white
lead acetate papers became dark brown on exposure of 30
hours duration, thus indicating that sulphuretted hydrogen
gas was present in the Council Chamber, in which room the
Enquiry was being held.

Thames-side Advisory Committee for
Abatement of Atmospheric Pollution

On 1st August, one deposit gauge was assembled on behalf of the above Committee in the grounds of the Royal Alfred Institution situated at Belvedere, and since that date, monthly deposits within the gauge have been examined by the Public Analyst with the following results:—
