A (4) i. Infant Mortality
20 infants died before reaching 1 year of age giving
an infant mortaliiy rate of 29-3 per 1,000 live births.
The comparable figure for the whole of the country is
27.6.
Of the 20 children who died, 10 died before reaching the
age of one month, giving a neo-natal mortality rate of 14.6
per 1,000 live births. 16 died in hospital and the remaining 4
in their own homes.
Coroner's Postmortem examinations, without inquests,
were carried out in 6 cases.
