NUTRITIONAL SURVEY.
The Ministry of Health has been conducting systematic
nutritional surveys of certain sections of the population
throughout the country during the past three years and following
a discussion with Dr. Magee of the Ministry of Health in
which it was intimated that to continue these examinations a
similar survey was desirable in this industrial borough,
arrangements were made for a conference with Dr. Adcock (of
the Ministry of Health). At this conference it was proposed
to use the clinical estimation of malnutrition states introduced
by Dr. Sydenstricker from America into this country, and it
was decided as far as possible to obtain a cross section of all
grades of the population of the town.
