The two remaining School cases have now left—a boy
leaving the Day Special School at Easter and a girl being due
to leave the Senior School at Christinas, have reached the age
of 16 years. The former is already under supervision on behalf
of the County Mental Deficiency Committee to whom reports
are rendered. As there may be need for some action in the
future, it is recommended that the other cases be reported
informally for Friendly Supervision.
After Care Cases.
Two boys and three girls remain 011 the After Care list.
One lad is in regular work and believed to be getting along
well but the other case is less satisfactory partly 011 account of
home circumstances. One girl has been in domestic service
but, in December, was looking for other employment. Two
are helping at home ; it is doubtful if either of these is capable
of becoming self-supporting.
An additional case (an epileptic girl) is visited by the
Association as the parents need help and advice in regard to
training and employment.
The Association appreciates the co-operation of the Education
Committee in forwarding names of cases notified to the
Mental Deficiency Authority 011 leaving S]>ecial Schools. Two
names have been received this year.
The Association has to thank the Head Teacher of the
Senior School for kind co-operation in reporting progress of
school cases.
