described in Section 47 of the National Assistance Act 1948 (as amended) were not used during the
year.

Laundry service for incontinent persons
The Council provides a free weekly collection and delivery laundry service for incontinent persons
by using the facilities of the laundry at the Adult Training Centre. The service is available on the
recommendation of the patient's medical practitioner or the home nurse in attendance.

Council Act 1956
At the end of the year nineteen patients were being provided with this service, involving the handling
of approximately 133 articles per week.
