outworkers were received during the year. 133 addresses of outworkers
were forwarded to other districts.

HAIRDRESSERS' AND BARBERS' PREMISES.
Byelaws were made in 1937 for the purpose of securing the
cleanliness of any premises used for carrying on the business of a
hairdresser or barber and of the instruments, towels, and materials
used in such premises.
These byelaws have proved useful in maintaining a high standard
in the premises of the Borough.

OFFENSIVE TRADES
During the year the Council by Order declared a business in
Enfield dealing with butchers' waste to be an offensive trade. The
Order has been submitted to the Minister of Housing and Local
Government and is awaiting confirmation.
