Special Designated Milk. During 1958 the County Council
issued one Dealer's (Pasteuriser's) and one Dealer's (Steriliser's)
licence in respect of premises within Enfield where milk is processed.
These premises were regularly inspected, and compliance with
statutory requirements was well maintained. A total of 69 samples
of designated milk were taken, all of which were certified as
being satisfactory.
Safe Milk. In addition to the foregoing, 38 samples of raw
milk were procured within the borough and submitted to test for
the presence of tubercle bacilli. None was found contaminated.

The provisions of the above require all Hawkers of Meat, Fish,
Fruit and Vegetables and Storage Premises used in connection
therewith to be registered by the Council; during the year
9 Hawkers and 9 Hawkers' Premises were registered.

The following table shows the number of Hawkers' Premises registered and the number of inspections made by the Public Health Inspectors during the year in connection therewith.
