One hundred and fifty-seven visits were paid in respect of
infectious diseases during the year, and the total number of inspections
and visits for all purposes made by the Sanitary Inspectors

This is an increase on last year's figure, although the Department
lost the services of one of its Sanitary Inspectors in the early
part of 1946, and the vacancy thus occasioned was not filled until
the latter part of 1947.
