SLAUGHTER-HOUSES
There are eight slaughter-houses in Enfield, none of which is
in use at present.
PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER, INFECTIOUS
AND OTHER DISEASES
The number of cases of Scarlet Fever was 168, compared with
169 in 1945:
of Diphtheria 3, as compared with 20;
of Pulmonary Tuberculosis 109, as compared with 119;
and
of Pneumonia 71, as compared with 69.
There were two deaths from Diphtheria during the year, as
against one death in 1945. The Registrar General's figures show
three deaths from Diphtheria; this is due to the fact that one of
the deaths which occurred at the end of 1945 was not registered
until the first week in 1946.
There were no deaths from Scarlet Fever during the year, as
was also the case in 1945.
