Every possible effort is made by the District Sanitary Inspectors
to expedite the work following requests to property owners
and agents, and we have been able to speed up the progress of
repairs considerably.
Where there has been any undue delay a suitable warning
letter from the Council has helped considerably in having the
works completed without recourse to legal proceedings.
1,021 visits were paid in respect of children excluded from elementary
schools during the year, and the total number of inspections
and visits for all purposes made by the Staff of the Public Health
Department was 27,680.
