DEATHS.
The deaths registered in the District during the year were 521,
of which 244 were males and 277 females, giving a crude death-rate
of 5.66. To this must be added 389 deaths of Enfield residents
registered outside the District, and from this total must be subtracted
68 deaths of non-residents occurring in the District, which
brings the number of deaths to 842 for the year, giving a net deathrate
of 9.15 per 1,000 population.
The corresponding figures for Enfield for the five previous
years are:—

Ninety-seven deaths registered in the District were persons
over 80 years of age, 36 being males and 71 females, two women
dying at the age of 94.
