PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER, INFECTIOUS
AND OTHER DISEASES.
The number of cases of Scarlet Fever was 161, compared with
213 in 1936 :
of Diphtheria 132, as compared with 68;
of Pulmonary Tuberculosis 99, as compared with 80; and
of Pneumonia 50, as compared with 58.
The same methods of control were used as in previous years,
except that the number of immunisations against Diphtheria
was considerably increased, as is shown on pages 36-37 of this Report.
Four children died of Diphtheria during the year, as compared
with no deaths in 1936.

The following table shows the number of cases of Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria, Pulmonary Tuberculosis and Pneumonia notified during each of the past 5 years:—
