DEATHS.
The deaths registered in the District during the year were 568,
of which 271 were males and 297 females, giving a crude death-rate
of 6.51. To this must be added 415 deaths of Enfield residents
registered outside the District, and from this total must be subtracted
70 deaths of non-residents occurring in the District, which
brings the number of deaths to 913 for the year, giving a net deathrate
of 10.47 per 1,000 population.
The corresponding figures for Enfield for the five previous
years are:—

One hundred and thirteen deaths registered in the District
were persons over 80 years of age, 41 being males and 72 females,
one man and one woman dying at the age of 99.
