Thirty children have been treated in the Orthoptic Department
of the Western Opthalmic Hospital. Nineteen of these have finished
treatment. This arrangement has worked very well and solved the
problem of giving these squinting children a reasonable amount of
muscle training.
Again the percentage of myopia in secondary school children
is remarkably high, but the numbers are still too small to be
reliable, and, of course, the age factor may account for most of
the increase.
Once again I have great pleasure in recording my gratitude
for the eager help given me by the staff of the clinic.
I am, Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
STEWART MACKY,
School Ophthalmic Sure/eon.
