Every possible endeavour is made to ensure the carrying out
of work with as little delay as possible, and in order to secure this
I have interviewed many owners and agents and thus expedited
the work.
By interviewing owners and others having control of property
in the District, the work has been speeded up, and in cases where
there seemed to be no just cause or reason for delay, a suitable
warning from the Council has helped to have the work carried out,
and so avoided further proceedings being taken to secure the finish
of the repairs necessary.
554 visits were paid in respect of children excluded from
elementary schools during the year, and the total number of inspections
and visits for all purposes made by the Staff of the Public
Health Department was 20,791.
