The figures for Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria, Measles, and Enteric
Fever include all the deaths that occurred in the Enfield and
Edmonton Joint Isolation Hospital, which is situated in the Enfield
District. Patients belonging to other districts are also received,
so that the figures for Enfield residents only are therefore smaller
than those given above.
The zymotic death-rate, after deducting seven deaths of persons residing outside the District who died in Institutions in the District, and adding two deaths of persons who died outside the District, is 0.07 per 1,000 population.

The same routine as previously reported has been carried out
in the control of Infectious Disease in Enfield, except that during
the year two disinfecting vans were purchased.
These are vans on Commer 20/35 cwt. chassis, with zinc lined
bodies so constructed as to be easily disinfected and cleansed; they
are painted cream and cost £215 each. They replace the old horse
and van previously used for disinfection purposes.
PREVENTION OF BLINDNESS.
No action was taken during the year under Section 66 of the
Public Health Amendment Act, 1925, for the prevention of blindness
or for the treatment of persons suffering from any disease or injury
