dental condition of these children was worse than the condition of
elementary school children, due to the fact that since they had left
elementary schools their teeth had been neglected. The number of
fillings that was required for each child was higher than that found
necessary for elementary school children. The initial year of this
scheme was bound to be a difficult one. I am hopeful, however,
that within a short time we shall have so improved the teeth of
secondary school children as to make the work in connection therewith
considerably less.
Twenty-two children were found at secondary schools to need
the advice of the Ophthalmic Specialist. Fourteen of these needed
glasses and the remainder either had glasses which were satisfactory
or did not need them.
Report on
Obesity in School Children.
By
Mrs. G. FORRESTER, M.B., B.S.
