PUBLIC OFFICES,
ENFIELD.
7th April, 1930.
Annual Report of the Medical Officer
of Health for 1929.
To the Chairman and Members of the
Urban District Council of Enfield.
Mrs. Heath and Gentlemen,
I beg to place before you my Annual Report for the year 1929.
This year has been marked by a much lessened amount of
infectious disease with very low mortality resulting therefrom.
Steady progress has been made in the various branches of the
work carried out by my Department, and whilst no new inovations
can be recorded, increased work has been carried out in its
respective branches.
I do not propose this year to dilate in my opening remarks
at any length on the health of Enfield during the past year, but
I am increasing the length of my observations under the various
headings that will be found in the report.
It is my pleasant duty once more to thank the Members of the
Council for the courtesy and help I have received, and to express
my appreciation for this.
In addition I wish to pay a tribute to the excellent help of
Mr. Wilson, the Chief Sanitary Inspector, and the rest of the Staff
whose loyal co-operation I have received on all occasions.
Dr. Dunbar has carried out her duties, as in the past, in the
efficient and kindly manner one has learnt to expect from her,
whilst I have also to thank Dr. Cook and the General Practitioners
of Enfield for the help they have given me during 1929.
I beg to remain,
Your obedient servant,
D. H. GEFFEN,
Medical Officer of Health.
