I am pleased to be able to report that the lessened number of
cases of Diphtheria that were occurring towards the end of 1928
continued to diminish during 1929, while 91 cases were recorded
in 1929, there were 211 in 1928, and 276 in 1927, but still more
encouraging is it to be able to record that no deaths were due to
this disease.
This is the first occasion for 12 years that no death from
Diphtheria has occurred in Enfield.
The same routine as reported last year has been carried out in
the control of Infectious Disease in Enfield.
Diphtheria Carriers.
Four cases of this disease occurred during the year in 4 houses,
as follows:—
