Medical Officer of Health's
ANNUAL REPORT
FOR 1925,
To the Urban District Council of Enfield.
Mrs. Cole & Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present my first Annual Report
which will include a survey of the last five years. Dr. P. P.
Warren was your Medical Officer of Health from 1st January to
1st April. I should like to take this opportunity of expressing to
Dr. Warren my warm thanks for the kindly help and assistance he
gave me when I first joined.
Two other new appointments were made during the year,
i e. Mrs. Walton and Miss Garlick joined as Health Visitors, the
former on 16th June, and the latter on 1st July.
The death-rate is still low 9.91 per 1000.
There is no improvement in the birth-rate, 17.58 for 1924'
16.48 for 1925.
There were a good many cases of Diphtheria during
November and December, some of them of a very fatal type. This
is however, the case in epidemics of this disease—some are mild,
others severe.
With my report is the report of Mr. A. J. Munro, your
Sanitary Inspector, which I feel sure you will agiee is a very
satisfactory one.
I wish to thank the Council for their courtesy to me at all
times, to the Medical Practitioners for their co-operation, and to
Mr. Munro and the whole Sanitary Staff for the excellent way they
have carried out their various duties during the year,
I am, Mrs. Cole and Gentlemen.
Your obedient Servant,
J. J. ROBB, Lt.-Col.
Medical Officer of Health.
