PUBLIC OFFICES,
ENFIELD.
June 9th, 1920.
Medical Officer of Health's
ANNUAL REPORT
FOR 1919.
To the Urban District Council of Enfield.
Mrs. Newman & Gentlemen,
I have the honour to submit to you my Annual Report for
the year 1919, which I trust you will find satisfactory. The Report
of your Sanitary Inspector, Mr. A. J. Munro, giving particulars of
the work done in the Sanitary Department, is also incorporated.
POPULATION.
The number of inhabited houses in the district on June 30th,
1919, was 12,040, and allowing 5.12 inhabitants per house, I
estimate the population on that date as being 61,645, although I
have no doubt that this very considerably underestimates the
number of people in the district in consequence of the War.

Enfield is divided into six wards as follows:—
