Thirty-four cases of overcrowding were discovered during the
year, in connection with which the usual notices were issued,
which secured the abatement of the nuisance.
NUISANCES, Etc.
It will be seen from the particulars given in the Sanitary
Inspector's Report that a very large amount of work has been
carried out during the year in securing the removal of nuisances
and the improvement of sanitary conditions of the dwellings,
which must tend not only to the benefit of the district, but to the
happiness and well-being of the inhabitants.

Daily records have been taken by Mr. Boswell, assisted byMessrs.
Smith and Coulter, and monthly returns have been sent to
the Meteorological Office.
