fied. In all cases where possible the work was

Public Elementary Schools.
By an arrangement between the Council and
the Education Committee, I have all the sanitary
arrangements attached to the non-provided schools
regularly cleansed and flushed each day, while we
also make periodical inspections of the sanitary
conveniences at the provided schools, and report
as to their condition to the Education Committee.
I am glad to report that there has been an
increased number of inspections of dwellings
during the past year, with the result that a larger
number of houses have been repaired and cleansed,
also causes of dampness and other insanitary conditions
removed.
The staff of the Sanitary Department now
consists, in addition to myself, of the following
officers:—
Mr. Fred Wilson, 1st Assistant.
Mr. T. M. Boswell, 2nd Assistant.
Mr. Noel Smith, 1st Clerk.
Mr. S. Coulter, 2nd Clerk.
I am glad to be able to again take the opportunity
afforded by this report to acknowledge
and thank them for the continued help and
co-operation given me throughout the year, and
for the real interest displayed in their work.
