Homework.
Nine lists have been received giving addresses
of outworkers, also nineteen addresses of
outworkers from other districts. Ten addresses of
outworkers have been forwarded to other districts.
An inspection was made of the residences of
all outworkers living in this district.
Milk.
Very frequent inspections have been made of
the dairies and milkshops in the district, in order
to see that the requirements of the Dairies, Cowsheds
and Milkshops Order, and the Regulations
in force in the district are complied with.
Ice Cream.
81 shops where ice-cream was made or sold
were inspected during the summer, 162 visits
being made to them, and where necessary instructions
given in regard to the cleansing of utensils
and premises.
Unsound Food.
A regular inspection has been made of meat
slaughtered and offered for sale in the district,
including the stalls in the markets each week.
19 parcels of organs were found to be affected
with disease. These were surrendered by the
owners and destroyed.
