On the other hand the bringing under supervision of 54 sufferers of
Pulmonary Tuberculosis not previously known may reduce the pool of tuberculosis
infection, and reduce the incidence further in later years.
The incidence of cancer in the lung and bronchus in the sample was small.
With 55 deaths in the whole population however, one would have expected a number
of cases of lung cancer to be detected among 13,000 odd persons to be in single
figures.
