The following table gives the age, incidence, etc., of those suffering from
notifiable diseases, excluding tuberculosis which is dealt with separately.
It must be noted that the figures in the second column " No. removed to
hospital " includes those already under treatment at a hospital, for instance,
the North Middlesex County Hospital.
This remark applies more particularly to the infections associated with
parturition and includes puerperal pyrexia and ophthalmia neonatorum.
The nuniber of deaths from Pneumonia includes all forms of this disease.

IMMUNISATION.
Diphtheria.
During the year, 1,373 appointments were made—1,242 children completed
treatment under the Council's arrangements ; of these 1,136 were under
5 years of age. 35 children were Schick tested. In 1944, 1,115
children completed immunisation treatment. Up to 31st December, 1945,
44.89% of children under 5 years of age and 55.84% of children from 5—15
years of age had completed immunisation treatment.
Measles.
Measles Immune Globulin. None was issued to general practitioners during
the year.
